10/11-14 Climb-o-ree
On October 11 through 14, Scouts participated in the district Climb-o-ree event. We got to practice archery and climbing.
9/28 Elijah Eagle Project
On September 28, Scouts participated in our Senior Patrol Leader’s Eagle Scout project. We renewed four campsites at Bears Den. Bears Den has often been complimented on its wonderful firepits, so restoring several that were falling apart was beneficial to everyone. We made burgers during lunch, as it is hard work. We added bacon and many other delicious ingredients to our lunch. In the end each Scout who participated gained valuable service hours, and our SPL successfully completed his Eagle Scout Project.
8/ 20-22 Wilderness Survival Outing
On August 20-22, Scouts participated in our Wilderness Survival Outing. We got to learn how to purify water, do some mock hunting, and even practice using slingshots! Our Scouts demonstrated perseverance and ingenuity when a massive storm rolled in, right over our campsite. Even through the wet conditions, it was still an awesome campout for everyone. We also got to practice making dinner, and all patrols worked on making a delicious stew. We conducted a mock search-and-rescue operation, complete with mock first aid. Overall, this was an awesome campout that everyone enjoyed.
